Default V70 will not start, just clicking sound

A day ago I changed the MAF sensor and my panel filter as I noticed when I was driving the car it was going into limp mode every time I'd try and go over 3000rpm so put this down to maybe the MAF sensor as it was a cheaper option. After changing this over the car wont seem to turn over. There's just a clicking sound coming from the starter solenoid I believe.

Does anyone have a pointers or experience of this.

I had two messages on screen which were:

"Urgent engine service required" (or something to that affect)

The message usually appeared when the car went into limp mode and wouldn't go over 3000rpm

Note sure of the connection between the filters change and your engine going to safe mode. Was it a temporary or permanent state (ie does the engine stay in safe mode after switching off ? and then back on, the engine?) How did you progress in your resolution of the problem?

Just a guess here, but it may be the anti-theft system. You should be able to find some threads on resetting the immobilizer. Its possible you tripped that off. Try two things - disconnecting the battery and reconnect after 30 min. then using the key fob lock/unlock the doors 5-10 times to see if that changes anything.

Have you tried boosting the battery or charging it?

Indeed, a clicking solenoid is usually an indication that not enough juice is getting there. It's possible that you just drained your battery too much doing the work. A dead battery can cause all kinds of weird gremlins.
