Default Water in intake manifold, where is it coming from?

I have a 2001 V70 T5 2.4L with the Xemodex throttle body.
It blew the throttle body/TPS fuse twice (#7 fuse if I remember correctly). We took off the intake manifold to remove the Xemodex and found quite a bit of water in it, probably about a quart of water.
We have been losing coolant but could not find the leak, well now we know where the water was going.
My questions are:
1. how would water get in the intake?
2. does water run through it and maybe it cracked?
3. blown head gasket? (there is no water in the oil)
4. is my Xemodex ruined? how can I test it?

by the way, I have tried for two days calling every hour on the hour to reach the tech guy at Xemodex and keep getting the run around
