my 02 XC70 has 150,000 I looked at my timing belt and it reads made in ITALY 94769 9531 I cant find any info on the number. Any one think its OEM or a replacement? It looks like its in good shape. PS someone highlighted the timing marks on the cover with a white paint marker also.

 

If the marks are highlighted, it has most likely been replaced.

 

Replacing the timing belt is far cheaper than the alternative if it fails. Most replacement belts come with a sticker, to indicate the date and mileage, that goes under the hood when it is replaced. When I buy a used volvo, if I don't see that sticker, I assume that it wasn't done. That's the first repair that I make.
