Hello everyone! I just recently discovered this site and I've been lurking around. However I'm in desperate need of some help! Today I discovered a severe oil leak coming from what seems to be the top of the engine. The oil is all over the back side of the engine facing the firewall. It seems to be coming from round cap on the top side of the engine. It's not the oil filler cap, but it's directly in line with it, but towards the firewall. I have no idea what this is, and I've searched all over and can't find anything on it. It did push back down, but it still seems to be leaking. I'm hoping someone can give me some help quickly on this. I'm moving in the morning, and have to go back to work on Tuesday. Needless to say this was really bad timing! Thanks!

 

What was the culprit to your oil leak? My oil leak is at back side of the engine facing the firewall, passenger side. It's a slow leak, but its visible on my drivway and annoying.
Could it be a oil pan gasket? It's a 2006 XC70 2.5T. Any help is aprreciated. Thanks.
