Default 2002 xc70

Here are the symptoms: Engine is cold (ie engine has not been operated for hours). Ambient temperature doesn't seem to affect, range has been from 40 to 90 deg F. The engine starts and runs for about 30 seconds...running fine. Then suddenly, the engine just shuts off. The current work around is to sit with the car, foot on throttle, increasing engine speed greater than 2500 rpm. Even then, the car may stutter at about the 30 second mark, but will typically keep running. After the engine gets warm, there doesn't seem to be an issue. This issue is only happening at idle. While the engine is cold, it will repeatedly behave as detailed above, unless the RPM is forced to be higher than idle.

What is the solution?
