Question 2005 Volvo XC70 CEM

I hope someone has come across this problem;
I have a 2005 Volvo XC70 with corrosion damage from moisture to the CEM computer board. I ordered a new one, but still does not communicate with the engine or electrical system to get the car going. Any suggestions? Thanks.

on the newer models, the CEM needs to be paired to the ECU. This needs to be done by a shop with a full VIDA DICE set up (typically the dealer). Research the CEM repair web sites (Midwest ABS, XeMODex etc) to see if they have specifics by model.

But if you pull your CEM and have it repaired, then reinstall, you don't need to go through this pairing, right?
