2006 XC-70 Vibration After Hard Acceleration
My brother has a 2006 XC-70. Beautiful car, but has 228k. It is used a commuter car. He recently had about $2200 worth of maintenance done on the car. Two weeks after getting it back he was driving down the road and accelerated the car to pass, when doing so, the check engine light came on and was flashing and he noticed a vibration. The flashing light went off, but the vibration was still there. He brought it home, parked it. About an hour later he went to move the car, and he noticed fluid on the pavement under the motor. The car has not leaked anything (at least on pavement) before. He was not sure if it's transmission fluid or oil. The vibration is still there, but not the flashing CEL. Obviously discouraged, considering he spent over 2k in service. This happened when he did a hard acceleration. Any idea what possibly could be? He'll have to decide if it's worth fixing or moving from the car.

Spoiler
The first tale required experienced diagnosis. I hope the car wasn't unnecessarily scrapped.
Rochgolfer should do a transmission drain and fill using correct fluid and a product called Lube Guard (red bottle). It can free up some stickiness.
