I am just wondering if anyone would know how I could temporarily override the door close sensor to allow me to lock the car until I can replace the door lock mechanism which apparently has a bad microswitch. I am trying to find the wiring diagram to see if I could figure out which wires would have to be shorted together to perform the override in this case. I am thoroughly amazed that Volvo does not provide some workaround for this kind of a situation. My wife is a night nurse and has to leave the car unlocked all night while working since the door close sensor is indicating the door is open and will not allow the keyless entry system to lock the doors! Wonder who the genius was that came up with this one!

 

There is no "workaround" for these devices. The latch sends a signal to the central locking module as to whether the door is ready to lock, or not.

Sorry, but I have to ask, if this is such an urgent issue, why isn't it fixed?

 

Didn't say it was an "urgent" issue, just an uncomfortable one with having to leave the drivers door unlocked. Seems like a simple enough work around to provide temporary relief until it is fixed. I was told there is a micro switch in the latching mechanism that provides the closure signal so it doesn't seem like rocket science to do this but the wiring diagram is necessary to find the correct wires.
