Can I use the Volvo to jump start my work truck?
Is it safe to use the Volvo to jump start my work truck? A few times I have had to jump start the 2010 Chevy Express in my driveway after a long weekend. I had a Jeep Commander and never had an issue. Now I have the Volvo with the battery at the back door and it seems so convenient and easy to use. Any harm to the car? Not like I am going to be doing this every week or even more than maybe once a year.....Just curious.
Just make sure you follow the proper protocol of connecting the cables. For convenience, I'd suggest a trip to Sears for a battery charger. They come in really handy when you have one car or your car is stuck in the garage and you can't get cables to reach. (yep, had that happen...)
Truck battery was dead this morning (Sunday) after moving it to get some tools out. So I went and bought one of those small charge packs since I can use it for some of my other things like my cell phone and wifi jetpack. Jumped the truck and letting the battery charge for a bit. I was just concerned about using the Volvo for jumping because I had a Cadillac before and was told to never use it for jumping another car.
