Hi.
I have a 2001 xc70 with 150,000 miles on it.

Twice now within about 3 weeks of each other. The gauges have gone wonky and all the warning lights come on. 1st the temp will drop then the tach and speedo then all the lights come on.

1st time we got off the highway and stopped. after a few minutes checking things out (I thought the alt had quit and had low battery) started the car and everything worked for about 5 minutes. Had it towed home. Next day it seemed fine so I've been driving it every day now for about 4 months but only for 1/2 hour or so at a time.

2nd time it happened i was going to work its only 8 km one way. It started acting up but made it to work. I left work at the end of the day and it hasn't acted up since.

Any Ideas???

its a great car but I don't trust it to take any distance.

 

I think the DIM has problems. I saw somewhere that there is a fix for this, or you can send to XmodeX for repair. The DIM is the instrument cluster.
