High milage
Hey,
looking at buying XC70 from 2008 with 220K (350,000km give or take) on it. seems to run pretty good but im ready to replace the 3.2 engine if that comes in the near future.
any examples here of those engines lasting more then that?

Sure lots of people have run a white block upwards of 300K+ miles. It all comes down to how the car was maintained. Does the car consume any oil? any signs of crud when looking in the oil fill cap (staining is normal, gunk is not)? Any weepy seals or oil leaks? Is there a maintenance history for the car?
Thanks.
it has a good service history and a good mechanic that knows everything about it. so i hope ill have some 20-30K without big issues.
looks like ill buy it, it runs great and its in preety good shape inside and out.
will post some photos after im done with all the cosmetic stuff.

I recently bought a 2005 with 165k mi. One thing I had to do was the PVC system. Blowback at dipstick and gunky like mentioned. Otherwise engine/car really good. Excellent service records like yours. Runs like a broken in new car now. Hoping to get that 220k+. Making lots of highway/gravel road trips miles fishing for steelheading.
