XC70 Metal Cargo Barrier

XC70 Metal Cargo Barrier
Hey Guys,
I've just got hold of a second hand dog guard barrier, it has the piston struts and everything associated with but I cannot figure out how it fits in the two retaining holes in the cargo area!? I have the third row seating in the back with the seat belts for the passengers but it looks a bit fiddly and awkward for the fitting.
Does anyone have one fitted to their 2005 XC70 or better still have a fitting diagram they can send me.
Cheers,
Steve

Your owners manual has instructions for that. Backseats have to be down as the barrier also needs to be in the down position to install.
See the little ***** with the white dot on each side. Use a torx to align those to the red dots. You'll see the little lever on the other side is within the "peanut" shaped lug which fits into the peanut sockets in the car(one side is spring loaded for width). You then rotate the ***** clockwise to the green dot. This flips the lever out and locks the lugs into the sockets. Try this first before installing so you can see what it should do.
Its best to have 2 people to do this as its hard to keep the lugs in the sockets as you turn the ***** to lock it in.
I'm not familiar with the 3rd seat. Do you use it much? I wouldn't use it with the barrier in the car.
Step 1 from the actual barrier install instructions.
"Applies only if an auxiliary rear facing seat is being used.
-Remove the auxiliary rear facing seat."
Thats it. Doesn't say anything else.
