I bought 2 P1800's a few years ago and have given them up as projects. Gave both to someone I know in Tacoma Wa.. but do not have title's for either the 1966 or what I was told a 1969.
Checking web sites I found the the body #'s for what I thought was a 1969 is actually a 1968.
The scrap yard I got them from says they will get me a salvage title but I'd need a VIN #
The question I've got is I cannot find a VIN Tag or stamping anywhere in the engine compartment, dash or either door post. Where is it? One web site says it is a 17 digit # but I'm considering it might be a combo of numbers and letters.
A picture of the Tag-number and location would be really helpful. You can blank out the # if you'd like, Either post the picture and location here or message me.
Thanks Richard in Brookings Oregon
OK found the VIN stamped next to the heater connection. Some prior owner had put silicone over it to hold an electrical Junction box. Once I saw the photo I took the box and silicone off. . The number I found starts with 183451- 025XXX (XXX are the last 3 digits). Is that then the VIN code? I do also have the Body # that is stamped on a steel tag above the tag in this photo.
