Hi all,

I have bought a Volvo 480 Turbo to convert into my clio, however the car isn't running properly at all!!!!!

I have a problem where at low revs the car is fine, as soon as i put my foot down in 1st gear, great but second gear and therefore it pulls back, and backfires sometimes too....

i have changed plugs, leads seem ok so i didnt bother with them, distributor cap changed, new fuel put in!!!

could it be something as simple as a fuel pump, or as severe as an ecu problem!!!

I really want to start the conversion next week so i have to get it running properly this week if i can!!

Oh, another thing is, could it possibly that the person before me has upped the boost too high or somethig by any chance, i dont know if it only goes wrong when the turbo comes in!!!

Another thing it does is sometimes cuts out after coughing and spluttering and then wont start for 5 mins!!!

Do you have a boost gauge hooked up to it? I would do that to see if the boost is too high.
