Hi,

I just wonder if 122 can support newer type of engine or perhaps support japanese engine coz its hard to find spare parts here in Malaysia for classic car. I want to use the car for my daily drive and I need reliable cheap and easy maintenance engine.

Any suggestions ?

 

If it will fit in the engine bay anything is possible. But with any other engine upgrade it will take custom work to make it all work correctly. And that means money.

 

I had search and search but not much info on this. Most just bolt on a supercharger or turbokit to the original engine. This wont help coz in case there is a breakdown... I will be a dead meat since not many will have the parts to replace. I love this car but as you know most continental car here in Malaysia had an engine swap example VW Beetle , BMW , Mercedes to Nissan , Subaru or Toyota engine. Their replacement parts are easily available and cheap.

 

You already have the most reliable engine if you have the B20. What parts do you need?

 

Don't worry so much. If it runs good with no strange sounds or large leaks, just change the oil every 3,000 miles (7,500 km?) and it will last forever.
