Good ground location
I was helping my boy do a install on a 740 today and was wondering where to ground the amps to. We wired the Hu, doors, and the amps today. We ordered a dist. block for the grounds ( 4 guage to 1/0). Just want to see where people are putting it at
We mounted the amps on the hump where the inspection cover is for the fuel pump. Its a sedan. We are not worried about drilling holes to run the 1/0 cable, just trying to find a good place to ground. I thought maybe there was some people on hear that are stereo guys that have isntalled some beat in there volvos.
What are you planning on putting in? We are putting in alpine type R coaxials in all 4 doors. All power cable is monster cable as well as the speaker wire. The rca's were from jl audio. The mono amp is a orion with 1200rms, and the 4 channel is from Kenwood, not sure which one or how much it puts out. We are currently looking for a ported box with about 3.0 c.f. for one 15. The sub is a alpahsonic, ( 1000rms my boy had laying around, will upgrade later ). Anyone isntall a double din on a 740 before?
We finished up the install after work on monday and this 740 is hittin hard! I give it about a week before the altenator goes out. I'll try and get some pics this weekend. We ended up grounding to the body. We used monster 1/0 from the battery to trunk, then a knu koncepts power distrubtion block to split it to two 4ga cables to power the amps.
