Default Key Fobs not working

Hi Folks. I recently replaced the batteries in both key fobs of my 2018 XC90....now neither work. I've wathced every YouTube clip on reprogramming and read every article on the matter, but nothing has worked. I'm sure it's a re-programming issue, as one was working when I bought the car. Wish now that I'd left it alone. It's nothing to do with the batteries or the terminals, trust me I've checked everything thoroughly.
I'd be grateful for advice from your learned collective knowledge on how re-programme the key. TIA.

Recent (the past 25 years) Volvo Remotes don't "lose their programming". "Regrogramming" is not needed after batteries are replaced or any other reason. If you wanted to program a NEW remote, you would need to use VIDA and a code that comes with a NEW remote is needed for that. USED remotes can't be "programmed" to another (or the same) car without a code that comes on the packaging the remote is delivered in.

It is true the remotes used in the ~1991-1997 Volvos could be programmed for use in another car. (methods included turn key 5 times, push a remote button, Then clasp hands together and mutter choice words towards the sky) Since 1998 a code and a special tool has been needed to make a remote work in a Volvo.

Your remotes don't work because either the remotes are bad, or the antenna is bad.
