Anyone know how to remove the rear deck speaker grills to get access to the 8" speakers. I want to upgrade them.

 

I believe you have to remove the Carpeted panel to gain access to the speakers.

 

Yeah, you have to remove the teh carpeted cover. It's a bit of a PITA, but let me know if you need details, I think I remember most of what I did. I did not however remove the speakers, I just soldered leads to their terminals for my amp install. The speaker brackets are glued to the steel framwork of the rear deck. I tried to remove them for easier access, but was unable.

 

The rear deck of 04 s60 is rattling, very annoying. Can someone give details to remove ? I'm looking to pad it somehow. Pictures of removal would b great. Thx in advance.

 

What year and model? I was just thinking about replacing mine in my 2008 but the info I got said they were 6-3/4" Are they just regular subs or are they componet speakers?
Any one recomend a speaker? Still have the factory head unit.
