Rear deck speakers replacement on 96 850 turbo
Hello to all! I was hoping that someone could help me with this. I need to find after market replacement speakers for the rear deck of my '96 850 Volvo turbo. What I have now are 8 Ohm and I haven't been able to find any that look usable to me. If any one else has ever had to replace these or has any suggestions i would love your input.
Thank you.
Thank you.

I replaced the rear deck speakers in my sons car with 4 ohm speakers. There were no problems. If you check it will say that a 6" x 9" speaker will fit. They will but you will have to rig them to work with the bottom part of the speaker tray and the upper cover will not work. If you want to maintain stock look you will need to go with a 4" x 6" speaker and you will still probably have to rig some sort of way to screw them down.

I have had no problem using 4 ohm Infinity speakers (6822CF). They are a 5X7 / 6X8 replacement and they do fit the OEM box.
Here is how I did mine:

I have the 8 speaker system on the car that I did this on and it has just the headunit powering the speakers. I'm getting ready to do this same swap on the Platinum which has an external amplifier and the 8 speaker system as well. It works fine with the OEM headunit and I guess we shall see how it works with the amp - it may be pickier.
