Dear Ontario Member's:
I have a Volvo 240 GL 1992 version and think it fantastic. With the revolving door policy of insurance regulators and industry our insurance is organized crime. I found going to Quebec I got better prices on parts purchases. I bought four new Michelin snow tires never had such good tires. The vehicle as a car has thus so far given me the best service of any car for winter driving I have a GM Suburban 3/4 ton truck and for its intended purpose serves me well. This is a apples oranges debate so the Volvo is by the far the best vehicle I have driven for reliability, starting and handling.

I would steer clear of Crappy Tire... especially with a Volvo (I wouldn't trust them to change a tire). Only thing I've ever had them do was the emissions test.

The place I go is on Bank Street... Adria Volvo. Nothing but good experiences with them... they did the work the car needed, and pointed out other things that may need to be done but would call and ask me prior to changing anything. Before I took the car to BC, they did a fantastic job of tuning it up... (They even called me in to see some of the parts that needed to be chaged- like some tie rods that were shot) and even changed a few bulbs for free! I would recommend going to see them. Tell them Mr. Kennedy sent you haha

toha- If you don't mind me asking, what is your insurance? I'm paying around 170 a month for my wagon.

I will call Adria volvo for sure. I was so upset because i thought i will have to pay such a money to get my car safety but i manage to get my safety with so much less money. Canadian tires are vampires .
till now i have a G1 driving license. I never drove in Canada before. My current insurance is 196 $ and they said it will go down to 180 once i get my G2. I hope to get it soon. anyways, you can call my insurance company "State farm" 613 823 6172 and i'm pretty sure they will give you a better price.

I think my high insurance has to do with my age unfortunately , because I got my 'deal' based on the fact my parents had been insured with Co-operators for car, house etc etc for years.

With Adria, my Volvo needed some pretty pricey repairs (Due to my brothers lack of repair on the car not their doing), but they always made sure it was done right! I brought the car back one time because it was making weird noises. They showed me it was due to the belt for the AC, and instead of just leaving it at that, they offered to replace the whole unit at discount or un-attach the belt so I would no longer have whinning nose. I told them I could live without the AC in British Columbia- they let me keep the belt too so I could have it re-attached in case I sold the car or needed ac (Since the unit isn't broken... yet). Just things like this made me keep going back... Service guys are also helpful and respectful of your car.

Thanks! The car is just over 200k kms. I pay 200 full coverage for my car which includes my wife as second driver. I'm probably older than you guys as well lol so maybe that's why its a bit cheaper for me. I'm with Rbc insurance which is supposedly one of the cheapest.
