Default Sticky Window / Door lock Buttons

Hello!

I have recently purchased a 2000 V70 and all the window / door lock buttons are black and sticky. I have tried everything to clean them, including scraping them with my fingernails, but I can't seem to get all the goo off. Do you have any suggestions?

I hope I've posted this in the right section, my apologies if I have goofed.

Thanks!

If it is not too bad try using straight IPA. If you have any leather nearby make sure you cover it.

If that does not work try amonia and water. (1:5)

Thanks, SACS80. What is IPA?
Yes, the buttons are very sticky, I couldn't even see the lights underneath!
I'll try the ammonia and water solution.

"Rubbing Alcohol" or formally "Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol".

Go to you local drug store pick up a few bottles. I use for everything. Good for windows, ***** and allot more. Just make sure to protect any leather with a thick old towel. It will remove the top coat on the leather and damage the color.

I keep a small spray bottle in the truck. Half water, Half IPA.
