2.4L Diesel, fuel injector "seals?"
When going to check the compression on my 1982 2.4L diesel wagon, I removed all the injectors. Then hooked up the tester. Then (being my first time checking the compression on a diesel engine), I lost a little washer looking thing (that I'm assuming to be some kind of seal). I didn't know they were down in the holes where the injectors go, and when I turned the engine over two of them shot out. I only found one.
They are about as big around as the end of the injector, with a smaller hole in the center (for the "nozzle" of the injector to stick through I assume). They are fairly thick as well.
Mainly I was wondering what to call this piece so I can look into getting a new one. And if anyone has a 2.4L diesel they're scrapping or something I'd be willing to buy one from them.
Thanks for any help, Spenser

I don't know what that part is called either.. fuel injectors seal or something. My friend has been looking for the same piece and he is still searching up to now.

Oh - this is an older thread. I found out what they are called. They are "injector heat shields". I got some from Rockauto. I ordered six (thinking they would send me six of them), and they sent six bags of 4 pieces. So now I have 18 extra ones.... If your friend wants he can have some - If he's in the US or Canada I'll just throw 'em in an envolope ad send them off. I doubt I'll ever need them again, and my total order coast was under $20 so it's not like they are real expensive or anything.
