Top end SQUAWKING noise - 2.4L nonTurbo
My 2001 V70 with 120K has started a loud squawking noise after running for 10-15 minutes. The car doesn't ilde very well once the squawking starts. I think I've localized it to the front bearing area of one of the camshafts. The noise is not very much unlike a turkey caller, for lack of a better descriptive.
Has anyone experienced this? Do I have a camshaft oiling problem and is the head now junk?
I think I'm going to be ill ...........................

UPDATE:
it was the PCV assembly (oil trap) located under the intake manifold. Evidently it has a rubber diaphragm that will make this "turkey call" squawking noise when it goes bad, along with allowing it to suck a boatload of oil in a short time!
Strange how the location of a noise so loud can be so difficult to pinpoint!
