Start at the main forum list page which shows each catagory and /or model of Volvo.
Select for example S40's and click.
At the top left side of the page you should see a button marked New Thread or alternatively to the right side a drop down button labelled Forum options.
I use the New Thread button on left side.
Open the new page and you should get a box to type in your question / topic etc.
A title for your thread should be included also.
You can add attachments, etc also.
Once satisfied with your thread, simply click the post thread button below your message box and it should refresh the forum you have opted for showing your message.
The F&Q button may offer help to you also.
Be sure to post in the right forum for specific questions or General if non specific.
You are able to edit your posts afterwards but cannot delete them so be careful.
Suggest you start out by introducing yourself in the new member forum to get familiar but as you have asked a question already now, seems your on the right track anyway.
