$ 500.00 Volvo 850 fixed for $6.00
Well I bought that 1994 Volvo 850 for $500. Thanks to the forum, and my local salvage yard I found fuse # 103 out of a late 90s V70 the red fuse for $6.00 dollars. I plugged it into the car and it started and stayed started. Turned it off and started it again. I don't dare call the previous owner and tell him I fixed it for $6.00 bucks. I'm going back for more things I will need. But it's running! Yippi!

I also noticed its irregular idle; up and down; really rough. So I disconnected the Mass air flow censor and now it purrs like a kitten. I cleaned it with CRC, but I think it's shot. I'm going back to the salvage yard for more. I really like these Volvos. I will get an R model sometime in the near future. Ps how long could I drive without the MAS being hooked up? What are the pros and cons?

Picked up a mass air flow censor and a good set of floor mats for $14.00. What a deal. The MAS , looks really clean, mine is clean now but one of the diodes, or something is discolored and suspect its just flat out bad . The Volvo I'm getting my parts from is a V70, but it's the exact same engine. 1998 forgot. The must have been wrecked new. The inside still smells like a new car. Anyway I'll test this sensor this evening.
