I'm sad to say today my baby is dead in the water .... the engine overheated and killed it ... burnt oil and coolant are in my driveway. my question is do i rebuild, or buy a new engine. I'm trying to find a place that can tell me what engines would be capatible to my car. was wondering if a volvo t5 engine would fit. ima Amateur mechanic so id appreciate any help or tips. would appreciate any other tips that would help such as other commonly used engines used for swapping and where i could find them Thx

I'm sorry about the incident; I myself hit a deer in my host family's 2007 Camry several days ago; a $2,000 damage and insurance deductible is $500. I could do the job myself at about $500-$600, as all parts are available at Amazon.com.
Anyway, you'd be better off with a rebuilt motor. I do not believe an exact new motor is available for your Volvo due to the model year.
If you have a spare car and can work on the 760, rebuilding the engine on your own can teach you a ton of knowledge & skills. However, if you do not have the time and are not confident enough, I would have a shop install a rebuilt but exactly the same engine.
See what others have to say before you decide.
