1993 240 no acceleration!
Please help with my problem -- it has me going crazy!!!!
240 with 309,000
Starts right up -- not super smooth but ok.
As soon as you hit the gas, it shutters and shakes -- absolutely no power.
Here's what I've done so far --
new MAF
new fuel pumps - both
new fuel press regulator
new plugs, cap, rotor, coil
no cracks in plastic intake hose
timing belt good and in the right place
disconnected exhaust - no change
swapped ECU - no change
checked ground to motor - ok
throttle position sensor - checked OK (just a switch?)
fuel delivery seems ok at engine
doesn't seem like a fuel problem - but it acts like one
when turning over with the coil removed, compression seems even.
got progressively worse over about 1 week to the point of unable to drive
If I can't figure it out I think it's time to go!
Please Help !!

For those New bies like myself, I was replacing the canister fuel filter which resides under floor near front of drivers side rear tire in a cradle that holds the Filter & the inline fuel pump. Well I was unable to get the Banjo fitting on one end of the fuel filter canister to stop leaking even with the new copper washers, I removed for the 3rd time and noted the banjo fitting was gauled.
This is a strange piece with a short piece of fuel line between banjo & a 90 degree brass fitting that screws into pump. This is a miniture check valve I know not why. So in order to get a new Banjo You need to buy this little beauty. $76.00 at the Stealer on the next island plus shipping and not in stock.
I took all pieces to a machine shop in Hilo that makes brake lines power steering
hoses, fuel hoses, show the gent He says Yep, I can put a new banjo on this & I'll put a Stainless steel, fuel line in place of this 17 year old plastic line from the factory between, the check valve & the new banjo. $33.00 and all is well
