I'm looking for a few parts to take care of a few things on my wagon and seen a V70 for sale in our area. The front end of the car is smashed up pretty bad back to the windshield. Not sure if it will drive or not, doesn't look like it. Asking $1,500 claiming to have a good tranny and motor with about 140,000 miles on it.

Anyway, I called the guy to see it and he would not give me the address because he wasn't there. Called me after I left the area wanting to meet with me. I told him that I was out of the area and would have to catch up with him Thursday late afternoon. He agreed to meet with me "if the car was still available". I told him "without a doubt, @ $1,500 it would be". Why do these people think they can sell a 14 year old car that is smashed up and not drivable for more than $500??? The insurance company sure wouldn't charge more than $500 to sell it back to them after it's totaled. I told the guy that I have purchased a few Volvo's for a lot less than that that I drove away.

I'll let you guys know when I have some parts for us to pick over.

 

I went to look at the car yesterday and it's a $350 car. The main parts that I was interested in on the V70 are bad. The front of the car is smashed in, busted probably all of the motor mounts and DID damage the radiator. The car has 120k on the clock. The seats are torn, the drivers door stop is torn through the metal and who knows what else is wrong with the car. It has NO OPTIONS, only 2 switches on the dash. 1 for the rear fogs and the other is for something else, can't remember.

I offered the guy $500 for it and he asked me to pay $800. Wasn't worth it to me so I walked. Maybe he'll call me in a couple of days.
