Default 2002 s-40

have 2002 s-40 with 78,000 miles on it. recently have a code p0015 exhaust camshaft position timing bank 1 show up. this code was diagnosed on OBD meter that utilizes "ALL DATA".suspected cam shaft sensor/ purchased a warranted used one installed it...no difference. forgot to also include that vehicle is a hard start when cold and loves gasoline too! checked the sensor purchased and voltage it's putting out/ registering with is /at specs. for the item. also have removed and cleaned the exhaust camshaft reset valve/ put 12volts to it and it "clicks open-shut as if operable.not certain at this point to also change the crankshaft sensor as one forum I read says that both cam and crank sensors should be changed out at same time as they work together etc. any readers have any similar problem they solved in another manner?
