I'm looking to replace my daughters S70 and I found a 2004 S40 with 100K miles and I also found a 2002 S60 with 106K.

I don't know anything about these models and I'm looking for recommendations from those that know something about these models.

The S40 is a turbo which means high octane gas, not good for a college student.

The 2002 S60 is not a turbo.

What do you guys think of these cars?

 

Have heard nothing either way about the S40 mechanicals, but it is small, I feel cramped in them. If you kid is staying local that may not be a factor. My kids both went out of state and I just felt better with more steel around them. My 22 year old still drives an S70 and really doesn't want to change (his mother wants him to drive something 'newer').
I'd go the S60 if the maintianence is current.
