I had an engine shampoo done and right afterwards, the car was running very rough especially at idle and the check engine light came on.


I've ad 3 coils replaced and the car now idles well but seems a bit rough still while driving. The check engine light has not come back on.


The car has 165,000 kilometres. And I've been advised that new spark plugs may solve the issue - however - I've also been told that the spark plugs would not have been affected during the engine cleaning. The sparks plus were last replaced at 97,000 kilometers.


Any ideas.

 

Anytime the spark plug wells get water in them the engine is going to run rough. You need to Mae sure all of the water is gone first and foremost.
