So I recently got a 2011 Volvo XC60 and I noticed that when I try to play music from my phone, an iPhone 8, through the USB it starts to connect and then says USB unreadable. Is there anyway I can fix it, or can I just not paly music through USB.
Also, there I was thinking about getting SiriusXM, but when I try to go to the Sirius channels, both SXM1 and SXM2 on the radio mode options say updating 0% complete. I know that you're not supposed to turn the car off while it's updating, but I left it for 10-15 minutes one time and it didn't change at all.

Is there anyway to fix either of these. Thanks anything would help.

 

I have a 2012 XC60 and have had similar issues with the USB and Sirius. I was never able to get my Sirius free trial to work (but I didn't try very hard). For years, my USB port worked most of the time with my iphone S but occasionally it would say the phone wasn't connected or was unreadable. I would unplug, switch to radio, switch back to USB and it usually worked afterward. Sometimes a different USB cable would help. Recently it stopped working and now all I get is the unreadable message. The USB still charges my phone though. Hopefully, we can find a fix for this!
