Default 2014 S60 with T6 Polestar engine

I am looking to buy a 2014 S60. It has a T6 Polestar engine. The listing says it is modified but small dealer says they don't know extent of "modified."

I know the intercooler was changed to a do88. But I am not sure whatelse.

I have attached a few pictures of engine. Thanks for your help

That was a car where the previous owner spent a bunch on money trying to make it faster. And I bet he ran the crap out of it trying to prove it was faster - Then got bored because it is after all a Volvo sedan. (or hidden problems began to appear and was traded)

Why intentially choose a car to purchase when you know it was probably abused?

There are 37 more 2013-2015 s60s for sale on autotrader with the T6 engine. Most if not all of them are stock cars.

Unless you just really want a modified car that may have unknown problems (such as a damaged transmission from abusive driving)

yep. the most common "mod" for a turbo engine is an ECU tune that raises boost, changes the fuel maps etc. Then the owner went about adding aftermarket bits like silicone hoses, possibly a blowoff valve, a bigger intercooler, possibly a "fresh air" intake (which usually suck in warm air from the engine) as a way of dealing with that extra pressure and heat. All of that will add stress to the engine internals - maybe not to the point of damage but certainly beyond what the factory design expected, particularly the transmission.

If you want a daily driver good for 200K+ miles, then I'd say keep on shopping, keeping an eye for a car with a ful maintenance history.

I agree. Looking for an unmodified S60. Thank you.
