850 Basemodel vs T-5

RE: 850 Basemodel vs T-5
Um a bunch of items.
The airbox should say Turbo on it if it is a T5, There is an intercooler and intercooler piping, Um there is a turbo, there is a badge that says T5, Possibly has a stock boost gauge in the dash on the left hand side.
The base model, no turbo, jusy says VOLVO and 850 on the rear.

If I have a badge that says Turbo, does it mean I have a t-5?
Becaus eI was looking at MSN autos and the only difference was leather seats and what I got has leatherseats.
The car is still on the lot so I cannot check right now. I want to drive it back home so bad....
Edit: The 220 HP vs the 240HP.
MSn calls the 220 the "Base"
Double Edit: NA = GLT
220 HP = Base
240HP = T-5

The TURBO model is a LPT (Low Pressure Turbo) 220Hp, the T5 is a HPT (High Pressure Turbo) 240Hp.

RE: 850 Basemodel vs T-5
Hold on here:
The base model has 168 HP, the low pressure turbo has 190 HP, the T5 (Turbo in 94 and 95) has 222 HP and the T5R (R in 96 and 97) have 240 HP.
The very best way to tell is by the serial number.
Look at pos 6-7:
58 = R
57 = T5 or Turbo in 94.95
56 = LPT
55 = Base model.
I don't even look at an 850 unless it's a 57 or 58 in the serial number.
Trust me, I know what I'm saying.

It's a 95 w/ Leather and according to MSN, the leather was not availible in the T-5. But I found it strange that it said Cd player wasn't even an option when there is a 6 disc changer in back....
Edit: In 95, MSN also listed only the 160 HP, 222 HP and the 240 HP.

RE: 850 Basemodel vs T-5
I really don't think they had the low pressure turbo in 95. I'm almost certtain that all the Turbo's had leather. I know my 94 Turbo had leather, but it did not have a CD player or changer. In 95 it will not be called a T5 though, just a Turbo. That was the first year for the R and it was called theT5R for that year only. and it only came in black and yellow.
What might be confusing is that the T5R did not really come with just leather. It came with a combination of suede and leather and maybe that's where they are getting that the T5 (not named that in 95) did not come with leather.

Mine is a 95 model T5 (it says so) 223HP :-)
Mind you I'm in the UK so maybe model releases differ from that of the US.

Hey,
When you guys say boost guage, do you mean it will actually give you PSI numbers of the little turbo guage?

RE: 850 Basemodel vs T-5
It has cloth interior. with a cheecky suede effect. Its a genuine T5. The T5 is 223 bhp and T5R is 240bhp. Trust me. I have swedish friends. Maybe the US do change it a little. I want to superchip it to 253bhp but maybe when my wage allows the fuel consumption. Its expensive here. It gives great joy to have a (as we call them here) 'cardick' in a suped up pile of garbage think they can can burn what looks like a standard Volvo (apart from the T5 badge)

The badge on the back says "Turbo" only.
Do I have 222 HP or 240?
