Default 95 850

I bought a 95 850 wagon a few months ago and the engine promptly blew. I am looking for another engine for the car and need to know if it has an air pump. I am told that cars made that year came both with and without the air pump. The dealer tells me that he cannot tell from the VIN and I need to look at the engine to tell, but the mechanic where the car is (pretty far from me), tells me that it us buried and it cannot be seen without a bit of tearing apart. Would love to get this car back on the road, but need to find an engine that fits! Help!

Hi and welcome to the site.

Sorry I didn't notice your post, have been very busy lately.

The VIN tells if it has an airpump or not. Look here, the 8th digit tells:

0, 1 & 3 = no (w/o air pump).

I have never seen a 95 with an air pump. The 95's usually have an EGR the 96 and newer usually have the air pumps.
