Hi there! I am looking around at older volvo wagons and I know some models come with third rear facing seats. Im wondering if its possible to add a rear facing seat to any models at all, or if they have to come that way. I keep seeing great deals on craigslist, but almost none have the third row seat. also, are these very safe for kids? i have 5 kids, but i am mostly going to use this vehicle during the week when my 3 oldest are in school and hubby is at work. so i just want the rear seats for occasions when i have all the kids, like summer break, etc. i have looked at an 88 with the rear seat and it looked ok, but i just would like some input from owners. thanks!

 

I THINK that the same rear facing seat was fitted to the 240, 260, 740, 760, 940 and 960, and that you need to have a "space saver" spare wheel to allow the seat to fold down. There's normally a few seats on ebay.
