Air mass reader on an 87 240 DL
I'm having some issues with my 87 Volvo 240 DL. Seems it's either one of the fuel pumps or the air mass reader. After I start the car and give it gas it will barley go and struggles, won't get up to speed at all! Is it most likely the air mass reader? If so, how much should I expect to pay to have it replaced? I was told by one person it would cost as much as replacing a fuel pump?!?

if your near Portland, Oregon then you should look into going to IPD and having them assist you. other known volvo shops you can look into is RSI, the V shop..etc.
how does the car idle? Do you smell fuel? When was the last tune up? could also be a clogged cat...
try unpluging the MAF and see what happens. you can check the pumps with a volt meter and sending them 12vs. you should be able to hear them working.
Wait for the experts to get on...
