Any portable dvd player headrest mount that will fit volve?
Hi.
I'm looking for a headrest mount for a portable dvd player that will fit my XC 70.
I originally picked up a panasonic player that comes with a pretty sturdy-looking headrest mount, but unfortunately the straps couldn't fit my XC 70.
The reason is that the headrests of XC 70s are not height-adjustable, whereas the headrest mounts straps are supposed to go around the steel pillars that are exposed when you pull up the headrests (of other sedans).
Are there any headrest mounts that will fit the non-adjustable headrests of my XC 70?
Thanks.

I too have the same issue with my v70, same type of head rests. I've tried everything from bungee cords to tie straps. The kids always seemed to knock them out of place.
I've avoided purchasing the entertainment package to date hoping that my next volvo will have it already included(fingers crossed).
My only workaround has been a PSP and 2 iPods with movies loaded

Built in is always an option as well.

They are more expensive, but would definitely not fall off haha.
They don't list volvo there, however the posts are adjustable from side to side so I'm sure they would fit.

That's probably why Audiovox does not list Volvo.
Of course, you can buy the entertainment option when you purchase a new Volvo which gives you a built-in dvd player, but that's a foregone option for us.
Actually, I did ask about this and it IS an option after the fact. Here's something they gave me:

What's the price tag on this in Canada?
Thanks!

I'll ask tomorrow and post it. Might be worth the drive if your close enough to the border

I'm based in Boston.I'm going to ask my dealer tomorrow too.
XC70 2007+ Headrest TV setup here is $1665 for the pair with 2 headphones. Extra headphones are $160 each.
Of course, labor to have them installed is extra.

It turns out that my dealer too offers it at an even more competitive price of $599.

Maybe you should drive down here to have it installed.

Wow, Maybe I will. That's practically giving it away. They are discounting it by $1066. I kinda wish that our economy was going a bit more 'south' also in some ways. That way I could get cheaper parts....oh well. Thanks for the link.
Please be careful when rigging up any dvd player to fit in the headrest. We buy Volvo for safety! If the dvd should fly off the headrest during an accident or sudden stop, it could cause serious injury.
I bought this car headrest dvd in april 2009. so far this set is working fine. it sounds really great and the resolution is very good. the touch screen works car wash machine really well. I have found no fault so far and i hope that i don’t find anywhere. by Espow.from the car dvd player above? you can compare which headrest car dvd player is suitable with you? but actually there are many brands of car dvd player out there.
Good luck with you !
