Big Leak under steering wheel 2008 V70
Hey Everyone,
Just started my car and liquid poured out under steering wheel on my legs and floorboard. Freaked out. Turned off car. The liquid was clear but had a minty taste. The washer fluid tank cracked years ago so that stays empty. Should I see if I have any warning lights?Should I have car towed or can I drive to a shop? Any thoughts or ideas appreciated.
Thanks kindly
Michele

Look, there is nothing with fluid under or around the steering column. All fluids in the car are colored to some degree or another.
There is a large panel under the wipers, it has drain holes to let out water, difficult but they could get clogged up on that age of a car. I would think the HVAC fan on the passenger side would flood out first but that might be full of dead leaves and stuff too.
Or you might have a windshield leak letting water accumulate after a long rain or melting snow.
Check coolant and other fluid levels, if they are fine I'd start it up and let it idle for a while, keeping my eye on coolant level and temp. If you have coolant and you have engine and transmission fluid you not are going to wreck anything by driving it.
The kicker is the mint flavor, any chance someone could have spilled a very large Mojito on your windshield?
