Default CAI kit for 01-07 V70/S60, etc.

I'm having trouble finding a CAI kit for the V70. I know tech told me the V70 and S60 are essentially the same car, so is there any CAI kit other then for the V70 that will fit in the V70? I know I'm probably just not looking in the right places. I want a fitted nice one that has the seal for the hood, etc., not some crappy one from eBay (no offense).

Doesn't matter which one you get, it's just louder and perceived speed. If it were me I would get a new K&N Panel filter and mod my air box myself to pick up cold air from outside of the engine bay. Cus lets face it, a filter on a stick in an engine bay is still just sucking up hot air no matter what heat shield you have in place. Filter needs to be under the lights behind the bumper, or at least the pick up spot should be there. I would show my set up, but i'm back to a stock box since i'm about to trade the car in.

I have the K&N panel filter already. I had done exactly what you said in a couple of my other cars, cut a hole in the box and custom-made a scoop to suck air from under the car. I can just buy another OEM air intake funnel and just have two. I just thought that the ones with the air damn helped to keep the engine heat out.

The stock air box will also keep the heat out....

If you want more "protection"....then spray the box with high heat paint, or wrap it in exhaust wrap.....

I suppose that's true. So basically it's probably a waste to even worry about it.

Depends on how much the CAI is that your looking at????
Any intake over $100 is a bit much....becuase that is pretty close to the price of a K&N panel filter....

The best way to do it is to get a cone filter and stick it outside the enginebay, like behind the front grille or lower air dam. Or just build a heat shield your self.....$25 for the filter...etc.

What I did was removed a fog light and routed 3 inch Scat Tubing from there to the box and sealed of the warm up deal. Worked great. Also Scat tubing doesn't have to do with poo.
