Default Cousin just gave me a 1998 V70 wagon

This car was well taken care of on the most part but it does have a few issues , are this cars easy to work on yourself or a nightmare , got a loud noise coming from right wheel well when going down the road , I can hear every bump , the shock seems to work fine when bouncing the car up n down parked is there some kind of bearing in the spring housing ?

Sorry no one responded yet

While I can't say I've done everything to a V70, they are generally straight forward to work on. Every car has its quirks, but these seem to be designed for service, if that makes sense.

There is a strut mount that, if it is worn badly, will clunk, etc. over every crack in the pavement.

Is the noise constant? It's not a groaning sound, such as a wheel bearing gone bad, is it?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Most noise comes from the sway bar end links. Just noisy like a baseball in a metal bucket.

I find them pretty easy to work on.
