Crankshaft Codes on my 09' XC90
Hello all! I drive a 2009 XC90 3.2l AWD 175k miles. I was getting evap emission system purge control valve circuit low codes (P0458) along with ECM detects improper/irregular voltage from crankshaft position sensor (P0336), intake valve control solenoid circuit low (P0076), camshaft codes (P001B, P001E) and TCM not receiving proper torque calc from PCM (P1719). I had a blown fuse that I replaced (cam fuse), reset the codes and now the only codes that I am consistently receiving (check engine light comes on immediately) are crankshaft sensor codes.
P0335 - Crankshaft position sensor A circuit
P0339 - Crankshaft position sensor A circuit Intermittent
P0336 - Crankshaft position sensor A circuit range/performance
My symptoms are: I was filling up my gas while the car was running and after I proceeded to accelerate forward, the car immediately stalled and I received a 'Reduced Engine Power' warning on my dash. Now it takes 4-5 seconds of cranking before the vehicle starts. RPM is NOT reading when I crank, stays at 0 on tachometer and diagnostic tool reads 0 RPM's. Irregular shifting, hard acceleration, sputtering, reduced power and HORRIBLE gas mileage. I'm not sure if any of this correlates but I also had a parasitic draw that was constantly draining my battery. I had to jump my vehicle every day for a week and then the other week I just removed the negative terminal from the battery when I got home. The draw is now completely FIXED (power driver seat computer).
My questions...is my best option to just replace the crankshaft position sensor and go from there?! I thought it could have been the timing belt slipping but its a chain timing belt. I recently bought this car and I'm completely inexperienced with Volvo's and cars in general.
I ordered a new crankshaft position sensor from Autozone and plan to replace it to see if that fixes it. Is there any possibility that someone could show me exactly where the sensor is? Do I need to remove the ECM + Air box in order to get to it? Can I get to it from underneath the vehicle without removing anything? I am not skilled what so ever so I'm scared to remove the ECM, etc. but feel fairly confident in actually replacing the crankshaft sensor.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ANY RESPONSES!
