I would like to change the default on my XC40 so the adaptive cruise control "feature" is off when I start the vehicle. The only way to turn it off while driving requires a lot of attention and time while you are actually driving; it would be much safer to find some way to turn it off be default. As it is, I just don't use the cruise control at all, because it is so painful to turn off.

For those who are curious -- the adaptive cruise control almost caused a major accident on my last 3 hour drive from Raleigh to the Wilmington area. If I could, I would remove it from my vehicle entirely after the near accident it caused this week. As it is, I have to look at the center screen, swipe, poke around for the button, and try to read what it says to make certain it is configured correctly -- all while making certain I am moving forward at a pretty rate of speed, because it resets to adaptive when I drop below a certain speed.
