Does cross country have larger cargo
Several years ago when we were car shopping, we test drove a 2015 V60 Cross Country and also a 2015 non-cross country V60. I swear that the sales person at that time told us the Cross Country had a bit more cargo space. We ended up with the non-cross country which it turns out was the wrong car for me. I DISLIKE low profile tires. Today we test drove a 2017 V60 Cross Country. I asked the sales guy about the cargo space and he said it is the same on all the V60 cars and I could swear that the Cross COuntry we test drove had a 12v connector in the cargo space for a cooler.
Today even though I thought I heard the sales guy say 2015, it turned out to be a 2017 V60, I found out after the test drive. I did notice a different motor sound during the test test drive but pick up was the same as our 5 cyl. It is has a T5 badge on the trunk lid and I thought it was a 5 cyl until I lifted the hood. Sales guy said Volvo didn't remove the badge on the 4 cyl cars. Plus I don't like or need the technology that turns off the car at a stop. Yeah I know by default it is off but the day that tech decided to take control and stop the car at a light, not re-starting would be an errrrr day.
Our other car is a 2011 Honda CR-V and it runs perfect. It also has a special split-lid in the rear cargo area that gives you a two story storage. Honda did away with that wonderful engineering and a lot of people got PO'd. I was ready to give up the Honda for a 2015 or late model 2016 V60 Cross Country but I'm not going for the 2017. Moving into other newer cars is almost a no-go for us. I don't want a cargo lid that opens on its own. I may be in my 7th decade of life but I can still open a trunk lid and I don't want a $2,000 invoice the day the motor dies. Also I don't need or want warning buzzers when I cross a line.
It looks like 2015 and 2016 is the year for us.
