why does volvo leave out all the important gauges like oil,battery,ext.?

Cost probably, a few pounds per car makes a big difference with mass marketing.

I don't think I've seen a non-classic car which has such gauges anyway.

Vovlo (or some aftermarket company anyway) does make those gauges...why they don't put them in? dunno. But they do have a swell factory look to em and work super neeto.

Just get Autometer aftermarket gauges if you want them.
