engine shuddering; message 'drive slowly - urgent service needed'

is it safe to drive to repair shop. she is stranded at side of road?

It would be safe to drive it to a shop. Sorry it took so long to answer but I just read your message.

Default MFG's Neglect

This symptom is called "Limp Home Mode"; the EEC & TCM have detected a fault(s) in the electronic control system and "degraded" the original performance-usually engine power. You can drive the car but the throttle response would be sluggish.

After correct repairs are made and the system reset, the car would be back to service again. "Limp Home Mode" should be explained in the Owner's Manual but MFGs are lazy.
