HID Headlights
I've been searching endlessly for the best possible solution for the dilemma I'm having. I have been looking into HID lights for quite some time now to install on my 02 S80. We've all seen the "kits" that they have for sale everywhere that include the bulbs and ballasts and wiring in order to install them.
My issue is I don't wanna be "that guy" that slaps some HIDs in stock halogen reflector housings and call it a day, plus its illegal and blinds people. Not only is that ignorant, there is no cut off so it doesn't help my visibility at night, it actually hinders it.
So my question is for all, what's the best way to go about this without having to do a ton of cutting and hacking in the car. Have other people installed HID's on their older S80s? Have any of you just installed the kits in the halogen reflector housings? If so is the light all over the place and blinding on coming traffic? Is it possible to use the OEM HID housings from say the 2004 S80's? You know just get the required ballasts and bulbs..or even order an HID kit and just use the 2004 OEM projector housings?
Sorry for rambling, it's 3 am and I've been searching everywhere for about 3 hours now. Thanks for reading
