Default How to check a/c comp

IS THERE A WAY I CAN TEST OR BYPASS SOMETHING TO SEE IF MY A/C CLUTCH WORKS THERE IS NO FREON IN THE SYSTEM TO ENGAGE CLUTCH

Running a compressor with no freon in it is a sure way to destroy it. Service the system (or have it serviced) and see if it kicks on. If the clutch has issues it can be fixed without draining the system on some cars.

What kind of car are you working on?

1984 240 volvo dl

i just want to check the compressor to see if the clutch engages then ill know where to go from there its an old r-12 system that i have to convert
