Default Just got Volvo #2

My daily beater was getting a little too beaten, getting close to 200k miles and was starting to nickel and dime me to death, time to let the old Buick go.

Didn't know what I wanted but I knew it had to be a proper manual transmission and had to be a comfortable ride for the awesome back roads of PA. I really liked the way my wife's XC70 has been holding up, has 108k miles and the interior's still in great shape, no rust, and still rides nice...and so far easy to work on, probably the easiest timing belt I ever replaced.

So I test drove a local used C30 and really liked it, but didn't like the way it was colored, optioned, or priced. But at least I knew I liked it. So found me an '09 C30 R-Design 6-spd with 19k miles halfway across the country that I liked, flew out, and drove it home. So far loving the car, I love my old Pontiacs but I feel like I might be leaning towards being a Volvo guy.

Very cool. It's kind of crazy flying across the county to pick up a car but that is exactly what I have done when purchasing my last 2 Volvo's.

My 850 has 245,000 on it and is running stronger than ever. It's the first R that Volvo produced. I love it. Hope you get many miles out of yours.

Congrats on your purchase. Usually volvo's are really nice cars. They are efficient, cheap but also gives a little bit of trouble here and there. Do post pics of your new car. thanks

Been crappy weather since I've been home so it's hard to keep clean, but here's some pics after I washed it in the garage about a week ago.

And a pic with some of his brothers and sisters. (Although the Buick in the middle is gone now), and the wife wasn't home so her XC70 isn't there.

Dunno, never thought I would be, but it does make the drive much more tolerable than my old Buick did. Maybe you're right.

Although, I am getting back into putting my old 89 GTA back together this year...finally. 1 of 360 made with a 5-spd, was always a blast to drive, had it for 17 years now, time to get it back on the road. Still a Pontiac guy at heart, even if it's a "corporate" GM.
