I've got a volvo lovin' friend on her way from Georgia to Michigan for her parents 20th anniversary . She blew a head gasket in Williamsburg KY. I'm a Jeep guy but I know it's the folks in the car forums that are the friendliest and most helpful so I am posting here in hopes that there is someone in the area that can help. If I could get down there from MI I'd be able to put a new one on for her but I can't and she is talking about having to abandon her car as money is an issue.

Try asking on other forums..

Turbobricks might be a good place, being they mostly deal with RWD Volvos.
Volvospeed, and swedespeed might also be a good place to start.

If she blewit from overheating, then she will need to get the head checked for being warpped. even if not overheated, still check the head.

Looks like she's going to give up on it. It's a head gasket gone bad. It's a '91 740 with 230k. It's white and a southern car. if anyone is interested in purchasing it. Thanks.
